Laptop Thief Caught On Camera: Arrest Made

BERKELEY, CA — A thief snatched a laptop from Cafe Strada in Berkeley on June 26, a crime caught on video. The footage, along with witness descriptions and alert police officers, led to an arrest.
The video shows a leisurely, mid-morning scene at a cafe patio on a beautiful summer day. People are strolling past and patrons come-and-go. One patron is using on his laptop - he hasn't walked away, he is right there with it. The thief walks past him, and then comes up from behind, grabs the computer and makes a quick getaway.
Witnesses gave police officers a description of the suspect and his getaway vehicle.

On June 30, officers spotted the suspect in the 1700 block of Alcatraz Avenue. They arrested 20-year-old Kenneth Anthony Hendon of Berkeley on suspicion of robbery.
