Sea Lion Rescued From East Bay Park
The sea lion was taken to the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito.

EAST BAY, CA — A wayward sea lion got an assist from East Bay Regional Park Police over the weekend. They discovered the ailing marine mammal Saturday night and called in the experts from the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito.
Park Police report that they helped rescue the sea lion at McLaughlin Eastshore State Park. The female was in good condition and later released, a Marine Mammal Center spokesman said today. The animal had somehow meandered inland and was surrounded by vegetation that blocked its view of the water, center spokesman Giancarlo Rulli said.
McLaughlin Eastshore State Park runs from the Bay Bridge to Richmond including the waterfronts of Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, Albany, and Richmond.
