Stabbing Suspect Arrested In Berkeley

Both Berkeley and UC police were involved in the arrest.

BERKELEY, CA — A male suspect has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly stabbing a man near University of California at Berkeley early Saturday morning, police said.

A UC Berkeley police community services officer was at the corner of Telegraph Avenue and Channing Way, two blocks south of campus, at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday when he encountered two men arguing in the street,
according to police.

One of the men approached the officer's vehicle and told the officer that he had been stabbed, police said.
UC and Berkeley city police responded and the victim was transported to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, according to police.
