The elevators at the Downtown Berkeley BART station will be out of service temporarily during part of next week, according to BART.

On Monday, February 4, 2013, we have to take the platform-level elevator out of service at our Downtown Berkeley Station in order to replace the hoist cables. The work should be complete by the afternoon of Friday, February 8. During that same week we will also need to take the street-level elevator out of service for one day, which is yet to be determined.

We recognize the great inconvenience this will cause you, and offer our sincere apologies. The work is necessary for the continued safe operation of the elevators. We appreciate your patience.

If you are dependent on the elevator, you will have to use another station. To check the operational status of the elevator before arriving at the station, please call 510-834-LIFT or 888-2-ELEVAT.
