Witnesses to December Hit-and-Run Sought

The victim remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley police are looking for possible witnesses to a serious hit-and-run collision that occurred last month.

A woman pedestrian was severely injured when a vehicle hit her at 11:32 p.m. on Dec. 18 on San Pablo Avenue at Haskell Street. There was no immediate information about the suspect vehicle.

The victim was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland and remains there with "significant trauma," police said.

Berkeley police Sgt. Emily Murphy said the investigation thus far has revealed that a driver or passengers in an SUV that was not involved in the collision may have witnessed it.

The SUV was dark-colored and similar to a Chevrolet TrailBlazer and the vehicle was driving north on San Pablo Avenue, Murphy said.

The driver or passengers may have helpful information for investigators, Murphy said.
