Woman Knocked Cold In UC Berkeley Assault
The suspect was armed with a large piece of wood, police say.

BERKELEY, CA —A woman was knocked unconscious when she was hit in the head with a large piece of wood, according to University Police. The assault happened Monday evening in the Eucalyptus Grove area on the west side of the University of California campus.
Witnesses told police that the victim was arguing with the male suspect prior to the attack, which was reported at 7:49 p.m.
The suspect left the scene and walked south toward Oxford Street, police said. He was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 140 pounds, with dark complexion. He was wearing a green shirt, brown pants and carrying a green suitcase, police said.
