2011-12 Southern Section Sports Calendar

The CIF-Southern Section has determined its athletic calendar for the 2011-12 school year. The summer dead period will be three straight weeks from the end of school—typically June 9 to August 20, 2012. 

Starting and ending dates for each sport are as follows:

FALL SEASON

Cross Country:  First meets -- Aug. 29; CIF Finals -- Nov. 19

Field Hockey: First games -- Aug. 29; CIF Finals -- N/A

Football: First games -- Sept. 8; CIF Finals -- Dec. 9-10

8-Man Football: First games -- September 8; CIF Finals -- Dec. 2-3                    

Girls Golf: First matches -- Aug. 29; CIF Finals -- Nov. 3

Girls Tennis: First matches -- Aug. 29; CIF Finals -- Nov. 21 

Girls Volleyball: First matches -- Aug. 29; CIF Finals -- Nov. 18-19

Boys Water Polo: First games -- Aug. 29; CIF Finals -- Nov. 19

WINTER SEASON

Boys & Girls Basketball: First games -- Nov. 21; CIF Finals -- Feb. 29-March 3

Boys & Girls Soccer: First games -- Nov. 21; CIF Finals -- March 2-3

Girls Water Polo: First games -- Nov. 21; CIF Finals -- Feb. 25

Wrestling: First matches -- Nov. 21; CIF Finals -- Feb. 11

SPRING SEASON

Badminton: First games -- Feb. 24; CIF Finals -- N/A

Baseball: First games -- Feb. 24; CIF Finals -- June 1-2

Boys Golf: First matches -- Feb. 24; CIF Finals -- May 10
