Beverly Hills City Hall Lit Pink In Support Of Reproductive Rights
"These are human rights being taken away in a show of disrespect to women," Mayor Lili Bosse said.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills City Hall lit up pink Friday through Monday nights in protest of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
“Today’s decision is absolutely devastating,” Mayor Lili Bosse said in a statement. “These are human rights being taken away in a show of disrespect to women and my heart breaks for those who sacrificed so much to bring us those freedoms.”
In May, after a draft opinion was leaked in Politico, the Beverly Hills City Council unanimously voted in favor of a resolution affirming support for abortion rights.

"The city of Beverly Hills hereby affirms its support for a [person's] right to privacy in making their own medical decisions, including a right to choose to have an abortion or not," the draft resolution reads.
The resolution also affirmed a person’s right to choose “therapeutic alternatives” to abortion, like emergency contraception.

The council sent the resolution to the Supreme Court, “not that they’re going to care,” Councilmember John Mirisch said in May.
Protests against the ruling have taken place all over the Southland and the country. On Monday, protests took place in downtown Los Angeles for the third day in a row.
