Beverly Hills Library Reduces Services Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Beverly Hills Public Library will close for public seating and adjust its services amid a massive ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

Starting Monday, the library is closed for seating and public computer use, according to the city's website. The library will only be open for sidewalk pickup from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and for grab-and-go service from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Passport services will be limited and passport photo service will not be available, according to the city. Book donations will not be accepted in January.

Beverly Hills had 5,914 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 as of Sunday, a nearly 700 case increase from just a week before, according to Los Angeles public health department data.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles County hospitals have been rapidly filling up for weeks; 3,364 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Sunday, an increase of around 1,700 cases in just a week.
