BHHS Girls Make All-League Basketball Squad

Natalie Moy and Chelsea Austin are first team selections.

The All-Ocean League girls and boys basketball teams have been announced and two Beverly Hills High players made the list.

Normans senior point guard and captain Natalie Moy, and senior forward Chelsea Austin, were both named to the first team. Moy averaged 10.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.9 steals per game. Austin averaged 14.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.1 blocks and 2.8 steals.

Joining them on the first team are DeAjanae Scurry and Zhane Carter of Inglewood, DeAndrea Toler of Morningside, Lunden Junious of Culver City, Moriah Faulk and Kristina Johnson of Santa Monica, and Mikeisha Moore of Hawthorne.

No Beverly Hills girls made the second team, which consisted of Taylor Tanita of Culver City, Tatiana Howard of Morningside, Tiara Chisolm and Marcie Hill of Inglewood, and Bianca Balthazar of Santa Monica.

Anthony Scott of league champion Inglewood was voted Coach of the Year for the girls teams.

Junior Austin Mills, who averaged 17.5 points per game, was named to the All-League boys first team. Rhon Mitchell of Inglewood was named Most Valuable Player, Gerry Blakes of Morningside was voted Most Outstanding Player and Patrick Roy of league champion Inglewood was voted Coach of the Year.
