BHHS Girls Soccer Makes the Cut
Boys soccer and both basketball squads fail to advance in the playoffs.

Playing in a strong league and facing stiff competition week in and week out should prove beneficial to the Beverly Hills High girls soccer team as it progresses through the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs.
The Normans defeated Pasadena Maranatha 4-0 in the first round last Thursday and will host South Torrance in the second round Tuesday at 3 p.m. South Torrance (17-5-4) finished second in the Pioneer League and defeated Bloomington 1-0 in the first round.

The girls basketball team also made the playoffs and was awarded the No. 10 seed in Division 2A after finishing fourth in the Ocean League. The Lady Normans took on unseeded Arroyo of El Monte in the first round Thursday and eked out a 36-33 road win behind Chelsea Austin's 15 points and eight apiece from Natalie Moy and Tiffany Haney.
On Saturday, however, the Lady Normans (15-15) lost their second-round game, 54-42, to seventh-seeded Rialto Eisenhower (18-10), the Citrus Belt League winner.
