Hawthorne Honors Eighth-Grade Graduates

Donning purple gowns, students listen to a speech by school board member Myra Lurie.

Graduating from middle school, eighth graders will no longer be Vikings, but Normans as they move on to .

During the graduation ceremony held Thursday at BHHS, school board member Myra Lurie gave the commencement speech.

“High school will present new and exciting choices and challenges. Take advantage of these opportunities to explore and nurture your own unique gifts and talents,” she said. “Seek out the unseen option, the fresh perspective and the new answer. Always keep an open mind.”
