Hundreds Enjoy Beverly Vista School Carnival

It was a beautiful day for the school's annual carnival and fundraiser.

Hundreds of residents spent the first sunny Sunday in weeks at the annual spring carnival.

"Our BV Rocks Carnival was a huge success," Beverly Vista PTA co-president Laurie Okum said. "Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who made this great day possible and to all the residents who came to support BV."

The carnival was open to the public and offered a place for students from all five city schools to mingle. There were rides, games and a petting zoo for younger children.

About a dozen local merchants sold food. The Beverly Hills Menchies frozen yogurt stand sold 273 yogurts in just a few hours, said food and drink chair Aime Alper Deutsch.

Other Beverly Vista parents who contributed to the carnival include Laurie Maybaum, chair of the event, and Lori Laprilo, who chaired the silent auction.
