Nate 'n Al's Celebrates 65 Years in Business Today with 65-Cent Specials
The famous Beverly Hills deli is offering 65-cent specials on Tuesday.
To celebrate 65 years in Beverly Hills, Nate 'n Al Delicatessen is offering 65-cent specials on Tuesday.
Pick up a bagel with cream cheese and coffee from 7 a.m. to noon, or a corned beef, pastrami or turkey sandwich from noon to 4 p.m. (dine in only).
Nate 'n Al's 65th anniversary was commemorated at the Aug. 3 City Council meeting with a proclamation honoring the deli.

"I grew up eating at Nate 'n Al's. My parents used to have a charge account there," Councilman Dr. William Brien said. "It's an icon in our city."
Brien said the deli serves 130,000 matzo balls, 16,000 gallons of chicken soup and 80,000 pounds of corn beef a year.

Nate Reimer and Al Mendelson opened Nate 'n Al's in 1945. The deli remains a family business under the operation of Mendelson's grandsons, Mark and David.
"We hope to make it to 100 like Dorothie," said David Mendelson, referring to Beverly Hills centenarian Dorothie Richberg.
