Taylor Armstrong, 40, filed for divorce last month, claiming her husband physically abused her. Russell Armstrong was also being sued by a company that claimed he had misused corporate funds to redecorate the family’s home.

Russell Armstrong's attorney Ronald Richards told People magazine his client had “serious financial problems” that “no doubt caused him a lot of stress.”

“Each month was a challenge for him to cover their lifestyle,” Richards told the magazine. “Russell was in a lot of debt and he had legal problems.”
