Relay for Life in Beverly Hills Raises $50K for American Cancer Society
City leaders joined Beverly Hills families to raise awareness and funds to fight cancer.
The in Beverly Hills raised at least $50,000 over the weekend for the American Cancer Society.
Cancer survivor and Councilman Julian Gold, Councilwoman Lili Bosse and Board of Education President Brian Goldberg helped open the 24-hour fundraiser on Saturday morning. Superintendent Gary Woods, Board of Education member Noah Margo and several school administrators were among hundreds who walked the track at for the event.
"We stood together as a community and said to those with cancer, you are not alone," said Michele Kalt, mother of Sienna Wolfe, a second-grade student at who is fighting cancer.

Beverly Hills Kids-Team Sienna, which included teachers, students and their families, raised about $10,000, according to Kalt. Other teams, plus activities that were held during the day, raised another $40,000, said Horace Mann parent Susan Kimura, who helped organize the event.
