The long-running festival offers timed weekend admissions, reserved seating options, and even free entry on select dates for military, first responders, and other “heroes,” making it a major fall draw in the mountains. 
• Big Bear Lake driver arrested after worker killed on highway (bigbeargrizzly.net subscription) — A 90-year-old Big Bear Lake resident was arrested after allegedly driving through cones on Highway 38 and fatally striking a contractor working in a closed lane. Authorities say he left the scene but was later arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter, prompting Caltrans to urge mountain drivers to slow down and use extra caution in work zones.
