• Biggs Reviewing Utility System Costs (gridleyherald.com) — Biggs officials are closely examining water, sewer, and electric utility finances, with no new rate hikes this year but a likely rate study coming soon. At a May 26 budget workshop, the City Council reviewed how to better track costs, fund repairs, and possibly upgrade a backup well, while noting the electric fund is too strained to cover major improvements without future changes.
   

• Bulldogs claim Northern Section D-5 baseball championship (fresnobee.com) — Biggs High School’s baseball team fell 11-1 to Los Molinos in the Northern Section Division V championship game, ending a strong 22-6 season.
