• California installs colorful welcome signs across the state (fox40.com) — Drivers entering California at Blythe will start seeing a more colorful gateway monument as the state replaces older “Welcome to California” signs with regionally themed versions. The new markers, part of the Clean California beautification push, are designed as photo‑friendly landmarks and symbols of pride at major entry points, including the Arizona border.

• RivCo Officers Issue Over 200 Citations for Fireworks Violations (mynewsla.com) — Riverside County officials say more than 200 citations and over a ton of illegal fireworks were handled over the recent Fourth of July weekend. While enforcement ramped up, Blythe remains one of the few places where “safe and sane” fireworks like sparklers and fountains are still allowed under county rules.
