Coexistence, Not Conflict

Cheetah Outreach Trust USA supports the important conservation work of Cheetah Outreach Trust South Africa (COT SA), focusing on protecting free-roaming cheetahs living on farmland across South Africa.

Once numbering an estimated 100,000 at the turn of the 20th century, the global cheetah population has declined to approximately 6,674 today. In South Africa, only about 1,326 cheetahs remain, with around 500 free-roaming cheetahs living on farmland in the northern regions of the country.

Habitat loss, declining natural prey, and increasing conflict with human activities continue to threaten their survival.
