After performing across the U.S. and around the world, Twanguero brings his acclaimed Backroads of the Americas solo show to Santa Cruz for one night at Peace United Church.
Rooted in Spanish folk and shaped by the sounds of the Americas, his music moves between Latin American rhythms, American roots and the guitar traditions that have inspired him throughout his life. From Paco de Lucía and Atahualpa Yupanqui to Baden Powell, Chet Atkins and Merle Travis, Twanguero draws from a remarkable lineage while creating a sound unmistakably his own.
Backroads of the Americas is an intimate solo guitar experience — rhythmic, melodic, percussive and filled with stories gathered along the road.
