San Vicente Blvd. Reopened: Man Threatens To Blow Up Coffee Shop
An LAPD bomb squad has cleared the scene at the Coffee Bean on San Vicente Boulevard.
BRENTWOOD, CA — San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood was closed while the Los Angeles Police Department investigated a suspicious package after a man threatened to blow up the Coffee Bean coffee shop San Vicente Boulevard and Barrington Avenue near the Brentwood Park area.
Police evacuated the coffee shop after a man walked in and claimed to have an explosive device in a backpack. Authorities arrested the man and explosives experts were working to determine if there is a danger.
The bomb squad cleared the scene in the 11600 block of San Vicente Boulevard before noon. The suspicious package was first reported at 7:40 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
