2 Women Attacked In 'Unprovoked' Peninsula Stabbing, Police Say
Breaking: Police say the women were each stabbed multiple times — for no apparent reason.

SAN MATEO, CA — A San Mateo man is under arrest for allegedly stabbing two women, out of the blue, who work at his girlfriend's home-based job, police say. Julio Escamilla, 33, was arrested "quickly" after the "unprovoked" attack over the weekend, according to the San Mateo Police Department.
Around 5 p.m. Saturday, officers said they responded to the 1700 block of Cottage Grove Avenue on a report of a stabbing. The caller told police that the suspect fled the house. Officers arrived and located San Mateo resident Escamilla of San Mateo outside the residence and two injured women inside.
"Escamilla was found to be in possession of multiple knifes, one believed to be the weapon used in the crime," police said in a news release. "While officers contacted Escamilla, other SMPD officers quickly responded to the residence to provide assistance to the victims. "
