Anti-DUI Operations Planned By Burlingame Police This Weekend

Burlingame police say they'll be out for the Cinco de Mayo weekend.

BURLINGAME, CA – As you head out to any Cinco de Mayo celebrations this weekend, make sure you designate a sober driver. That's the message that the Burlingame Police Department wants to get out.

In order to help ensure drunk drivers stay off the roadways, police will conduct DUI enforcement operations, the agency said.

"Officers from the Burlingame Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers," Burlingame police said in a news release. "DUI Saturation Patrols will deploy this weekend in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests."

In 2015, 40 people died in impaired driving crashes across the nation during the Cinco de Mayo holiday period, according to police.
