BURLINGAME, CA — Susan Orlean, author of the national bestseller "The Library Book," will appear at the Burlingame Public Library on Sunday, Nov. 3 to discuss her book that highlights the quest to solve the mysterious arson that nearly destroyed the Los Angeles Public Library in 1986.

Joining Orlean will be California State Librarian Greg Lucas, as part of the Library Speaker Series, according to the Burlingame Library Foundation.

"The Library Book" was named one of The New York Times’ 100 Notable Books of 2018, received nominations for the Andrew Carnegie Nonfiction Prize and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and won the California Book Award for best nonfiction, the organization said. It is being adapted into a television series for Paramount TV.
