While everyone was anticipating the Safeway opening, I was even more excited for the opening of the Safeway mall, located on the corner of Howard and Primrose. But now, I am getting frustrated with the wait. Signs on the building say that they were supposed to open in fall. It is now December and the stores are still not open. I am eager to sample the new Yogurtland and Five Guys Burger and Fries, as are many of my friends.
Many Burlingame High School students, including myself, have been talking about Five Guys Burger and Fries and are eagerly waiting for it to open. The shop has been called “the In N’ Out Burger” of the East coast, providing cheap and tasty food. The Burlingame Avenue area could use a good, quick burger and fries place. Several BHS students are hoping they can snag a job there.
I’m also excited for the Yogurtland opening because I have heard it is the best frozen yogurt chain. Yogurtland is a self serve frozen yogurt shop, so you get to choose your own frozen yogurt flavors and apply the toppings. Yogurtland’s unique flavors ranging from blackberry lemon mint tart to peanut butter and jelly make it stand out from the rest of the frozen yogurt shops. It will be interesting to see how Yogurtland will do because there are already three frozen yogurt shops in the Burlingame area: Tutti-Melon, Blush and ULove.

The Safeway complex has many promising hotspots and I hope they move in before the New Year!
