Are you constantly haranguing your friends and family with your opinions about world affairs? Do you have an interest in learning more about the United States’ role in the world? Well, now if your chance to join a political discussion group at the library!
Burlingame Library is starting its first ever “Great Decisions” discussion group. Join us on the First and third Wednesdays of each month. The first group session starts on February 6th, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Lane Room.

“Great Decisions” is produced by the Foreign Policy Association to provide articles and material to facilitate a thought-provoking and lively discussion group. All the discussed material is provided, by the library, free of charge, and covers some of the most important and current foreign policy issues facing the United States. Over 8 sessions, this informal discussion group allows participants gather to discuss topics affecting our world.
- Participants are provided a Great Decisions booklet, free of charge, which includes essays, background information, and current data on each week’s topic.
- These brief articles serve as the focal text for each discussion.
- This year's topics will include the Future of the Euro, Egypt, NATO, Myanmar and Southeast Asia, Humanitarian Intervention, Iran, China in Africa, and the issues of Threat Assessment.
