Health Screenings Help Seniors Stay “Wise and Well”
In September, free comprehensive health screenings will be available to San Mateo County seniors by the Wise and Well program and Mills-Peninsula Health Services staff.

More than 90,000 seniors call San Mateo County home, a place where they have access to a variety of social services.
One great service available to seniors is the Emanuel Friedman Wise and Well Program for Healthy Living, which provides free screening and health education services for those 60 and over. The program’s emphasis is on heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, three conditions that are particularly prevalent and can be silent in terms of symptoms.
Every month, the Wise and Well program provides free screening and health education services on a drop-in basis at several area senior centers.
