Burlingame Asks State to Correct Error in Water Usage Data
The city said its water usage was down 6 percent while the state data shows that it's up by 38 percent.

The city of Burlingame has asked the state to revise their water usage data for the month of April 2015 after finding an error, according to city officials.
The state reported that Burlingame’s water usage was up 38 percent, but City Manager Lisa Goldman said that it’s actually down 6 percent, and that state water officials have indicated they’ll make a correction.

Goldman also said that Burlingame reduced it’s water usage by 18 percent during calendar year 2014, when compared against 2013.
Mayor Terry Nagel said that evidence of Burlingame’s water conservation “is apparent by the number of brown lawns you see.”
