Press Release
Community: The Burlingame Police Department Arrests Driver For Possession Of A Stolen Motorcycle.
Burlingame, CA – On October 31, 2015, at approximately 1:08 am, Justin Wulbers, a 23 year old resident of Millbrae was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a stolen motorcycle. Wulbers was driving a stolen motorcycle westbound on Howard Ave when patrol officer attempted to stop him for a vehicle code violation. He was taken into custody without incident in the Safeway parking lot, located at 1450 Howard Ave.
Drug-impaired driving is often under-reported and under-recognized and toxicology testing is expensive. To address this emerging problem, the California Office of Traffic Safety is funding programs to increase the number of officers trained to detect drug-impaired drivers, special District Attorneys dedicated to drug-impaired driving cases, and new laboratory drug-testing equipment.
One such program is the San Mateo County Chiefs and Sheriff Association STEP program, which is running over a dozen DUI Saturation Patrols throughout the year all over the Peninsula. “The San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association is committed to making the streets and roadways safe for both motorists and pedestrians. These DUI saturation patrols to be conducted throughout our community will provide the exact education and enforcement needed to correct the type of dangerous behavior that puts everyone in our city at risk.” said Chief Eric Wollman of the Burlingame Police Department.
Funding for this program is from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Report Drunk Drivers, Call 911!
