Burlingame Hills Community Forum with State Senator Jerry Hill

State Senator Jerry Hill will be the guest speaker at a community forum on Thursday, June 13 at 7pm. His talk, entitled “A Peek Under the Capitol Dome – An Update From Sacramento,” will inform residents about the state of the State, as well as address concerns of direct interest to Burlingame Hills residents.

Senator Hill previously served on the San Mateo City Council and the County Board of Supervisors before being elected to the State Assembly in 2008. In 2012, he was elected to the State Senate.

His legislation included bills on pipeline safety, crackdowns on
underage drinking on party buses and on retailers who sell tobacco to
minors, foster family home protections and bills that make more
information available to parents and guardians about child safety seats.

He is a member of several high-profile Senate committees –
Appropriations; the Banking and Financial Institutions Committee; Budget
& Fiscal Review; Business, Professions and Economic Development;
Energy, Utilities and Communications; the Joint Committee on Rules; the Select Committee on Emerging Technology: Biotechnology and Green Energy
Jobs; and the Select Committee on Procurement.

Following the senator’s talk, we will get an update from County Supervisor Dave Pine, then we will have a discussion on sewer system upgrades and the status of Hoover School.

Refreshments will be served.

There is no charge for this event for members of the Burlingame Hills Improvement Association, which represents the interests of homeowners in unincorporated Burlingame Hills.  Non-members are welcome to join the association prior to the start of the meeting.  Membership is $20 per household and includes admission, quarterly newsletters, and our Burlingame Hills Urgent Announcement e-mail service.
