The Burlingame Lions crown the 2015 Spelling Bee Champion
The Burlingame Lions 2015 Citywide Spelling Bee was held March 26th and a new spelling champion has been crowned.

The Burlingame Lions Club held its Seventh annual Citywide Spelling Bee on March 26th. This academic competition pits teams from the seven elementary schools against each other to see which school prevails. Each team is composed of the three best spellers amongst the fourth and fifth grades of each school. Participating this year were Franklin, Lincoln, Washington, McKinley, Franklin, Our Lady of Angels and Saint Catherine of Siena. At the end of the competition, one school stood tall. St. Catherine’s claimed the top three places: Champion Christian Del Rosario, Guili Sapienza: 2nd place, Jana Elawar: 3rd place. The Burlingame Lions Club contributes $250.00 to each of the participating schools, plus an additional $150.00 to the winning school. Our partner in this endeavor, Books, Inc., provided gift certificates to all participants and awards to the top three spellers. This is one of the many community projects of the Burlingame Lions Club.
