Burlingame Man Accused In Peninsula Storage Unit Theft
Sheriff's officials say an alert deputy recognized the man after he was pulled over for having expired registration.

BURLINGAME, CA — A Burlingame man recently nabbed in connection with a burglary of a storage unit in Millbrae, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Matthew Allen Weatherford, 36, was pulled over for expired plates on Wednesday, March 13 by a sheriff's deputy assigned to the Millbrae Police Bureau, according to the sheriff's office.
"The deputy recognized Weatherford as the suspect in a recent burglary of a storage unit and stolen property investigation in the city of Millbrae," sheriff's Det. Rosemerry Blankswade said in a news release.
She said that "after further confirmation," Weatherford was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property. He was booked at the Maguire Correctional Facility.

"The majority of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the rightful owner," the detective said. "Some items, however, are still unaccounted for and the investigation to locate them is on-going."
Authorities did not describe the items that were stolen.
