Burlingame Police Plan Christmas DUI Enforcement Operation
Police say they'll be out in a special operation this holiday weekend.

BURLINGAME, CA — In an effort to curb drunk and drugged driving this holiday weekend, Burlingame police are planning a DUI saturation patrol. The agency announced a DUI enforcement operation for Friday night.
The DUI saturation patrol will last approximately eight hours and will target "areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests," according to the police agency.
"High Visibility Enforcement using both DUI checkpoints and DUI Saturation Patrols has proven
to lower the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug impaired crashes," police said in a news release. "Research shows that crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized proactive DUI operations are conducted routinely."
