Caltrain Strikes Vehicle On Burlingame Tracks
Officials say the incident happened Wednesday morning.

BURLINGAME, CA — A train traveling north on the Peninsula struck a vehicle during the Wednesday morning commute, but no injuries have been reported, according to Caltrain officials. Caltrain number 225 hit a car at the Broadway Avenue grade crossing in Burlingame at approximately 8:43 a.m.
The vehicle was unoccupied, officials said.
"There are no reported injuries at this time and emergency personnel are on the scene," Caltrain Spokesman Dan Lieberman said Wednesday.

Within an hour of the vehicle strike, Lieberman said both tracks were open for maximum authorized speed, but northbound trains were delayed by 10 to 40 minutes. However, they were already subject to a 10-minute delay this morning due to a mechanical issue, Caltrain officials said.
Southbound trains were delayed by up to 15 minutes, as of 9:35 a.m.

Turns out when @Caltrain impacts a vehicle, the jolt is still atypical (but not uncomfortable) all the way at the penultimate car. pic.twitter.com/XV9zLO54oj
