Chanukah Party to Close Burlingame Street

Fun for the whole family, Chanukah party, Menorah lighting

Chabad of the North Peninsula’s 14th annual Chanukah bash is set to feature fun and entertainment for the entire family in the center of Burlingame.

Hundreds are expected to join Chabad of the North Peninsula’s 14th annual Chanukah Menorah lighting on Thursday, December 10 at 6:00pm. The grand celebration will see the closing of Park Road near Burlingame Avenue and feature live music, Red Panda Acrobat show, and traditional Chanukah delicacies. Admission is free.

“We love coming to the festival every year,” says Gregory Shneyer . “It is one of the highlights of Chanukah, and it is a great way to enjoy the holiday with the kids.” Chabad says the idea is to share the universal message of Chanukah with the entire community, and afford everyone the opportunity to be apart of it.

“Chanukah is about the triumph of good over evil,” says Rabbi Yale Spalter, program director at Chabad NP. “The Menorah reminds us that even the tiniest spark of light can outshine tremendous darkness. This was true for the Maccabees of old, and it is true for us today, on both an individual and communal level.”

Israeli musician Shay Rachman will perform live, mixing it up with traditional Chanukah tunes and modern Israeli music. “Our goal is to make it fun and exciting for the entire family,” says Rabbi Yosef, Marcus, director of Chabad NP. “Whether you are a toddler, teen or senior, everyone enjoys the Burlingame Chanukah party. I hope to see you there.”
