Compost Give-Away Tomorrow

Did you know that yard waste accounts for approximately 30 percent of the typical waste from a home? According to the San Mateo County Master Composter, if you include food waste, it is even more.

Maybe it’s time to consider composting.

Composting is easy, fun, and rewarding to know you are turning, what some consider, waste into precious organic matter for your garden.

An easy way to get started is to pick up some already made compost.

Tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Burlingame High School parking lot next to the Washington Park grandstands The City of Burlingame will give away free compost to residents. Bring your own shovel. This is a self-serve event. Limit is one 33-gallon garbage can per resident.
