Hillsborough Garden Club partners with Creative Growth Art Center in April 2015
Works from Creative Growth Art Center will be featured and serve as inspiration for Hillsborough Garden Club’s 2015 Flower Show. This judged event is free and open to the public on Friday April 24th and Saturday April 25th. Oakland’s Creative Growth Art Center serves as a working studio for developmentally disabled adults to explore their artistic talent. Many of these artists are featured in galleries, museums and private collections throughout the world. Several of the artists’ works and other unique items will be available for purchase at the event, with all proceeds going directly to Creative Growth. Artwork framing generously donated by The Studio Shop in Burlingame.
Garden Club of America members from around the country will interpret the art and create works in floral design, horticulture, photography, botanical jewelry and conservation. Hillsborough Garden Club is honored to be collaborating with Creative Growth and increasing public awareness about the artistic capabilities and achievements of people with disabilities.
