Deadly Crash Closes Highway 101 on the Peninsula
BREAKING: CHP reports one person died at the scene of the early morning wreck on Saturday.

SAN MATEO, CA — A person died early Saturday in a crash along southbound U.S. Highway 101 in the San Mateo area, California Highway Patrol logs indicate.
According to reports, the crash happened around 3:15 a.m. at state Highway 92. The driver of a white vehicle swerved across several lanes of traffic and slammed into the center divider, suffering fatal injuries.
Following the initial crash, at least two other vehicles crashed in the area, reports indicate. It's not clear if those people suffered any injuries.

All lanes of the southbound 101 were temporarily closed as emergency personnel responded to the scene. The highway wasn't fully back open until 8:55 a.m.
