Deadly Stabbing Reported In Burlingame, Local Woman Arrested On Murder Charge
BREAKING: Police say that the man was found suffering from multiple stab wounds.

BURLINGAME, CA — A man who was found with multiple stab wounds — ultimately dying at the scene despite efforts by rescue personnel — was murdered by a 36-year-old Burlingame woman over the weekend, police allege. The woman, identified as Mia Smith, was arrested at the scene and booked into the county jail on suspicion of murder.
Officers responded at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 100 block of Myrtle Road on a report of an unresponsive male and found the victim had been stabbed, according to police.
"Upon arrival, officers discovered a male suffering from life threatening stab wounds," Burlingame Police Lt. Jay Kiely said in a news release on Monday. "Rescue efforts were performed by responding personnel; however, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene."

Smith was arrested shortly thereafter, according to police.
"The suspect in this case was known to the victim, and there is no threat to public safety related to this incident," Kiely said.

More information about what led to the stabbing was not immediately available.
