DUI Checkpoint Planned in Burlingame Wednesday

Police announce the DUI/driver's license checkpoint.

BURLINGAME, CA – Burlingame police will staff a DUI/driver's license checkpoint in town on Wednesday, agency officials announced.

The operation is slated to begin at an undisclosed location in town at 6 p.m. It will last through 2 a.m. Saturday, according to Sgt. Jim Ford.

"Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment with officers checking drivers for proper licensing delaying motorists only momentarily," Ford said in a news release. "When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving, which now accounts for a growing number of impaired driving crashes. "
