DUI Checkpoint Planned in Burlingame This Week: Police

Police announced the operation on Wednesday.

Burlingame, CA– Burlingame police will staff a DUI/driver's license checkpoint this week on the Peninsula, it was announced Wednesday.

According to Burlingame Police Sgt. Jim Ford, the operation is planned for Thursday night, beginning at 6 p.m., at an undisclosed location within city limits. It's scheduled to run until 2 a.m. Friday.

"Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment with officers checking drivers for proper licensing delaying motorists only momentarily," Ford said in a news release. "When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving, which now accounts for a growing number of impaired driving crashes."
