DUI Checkpoint Planned on the Peninsula Saturday
Police announced the operation Friday.
BURLINGAME, CA- Burlingame police will be out staffing a DUI/drivers license checkpoint on Saturday, the agency announced Friday.
According to Sgt. Jim Ford, the operation will be held at an undisclosed location within city limits, beginning at 6 p.m. It will run through 2 a.m. Sunday, he said.
“In 2016, the Burlingame Police Department will be hosting at least 6 DUI checkpoints. The main purpose of these DUI checkpoints is to deter impaired driving in our community and educate the public about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.” said Chief Eric Wollman of the Burlingame Police Department. “The safest way to get home,” Chief Eric Wollman said, “is to drive sober or catch a ride with a sober designated driver.”
