Elderly Woman in Crosswalk Hit By Car in Burlingame

The driver stopped and cooperated with police.

BURLINGAME - An elderly woman was hospitalized after being hit by a car in Burlingame on Sunday evening, a police sergeant said.

The collision was reported around 5:30 p.m. at Burlingame Avenue and Primrose Road, police Sgt. Jim Ford said. The car was traveling west on Burlingame Avenue and its driver turned left to southbound Primrose Road, but struck the woman in the crosswalk, Ford said.

The woman was taken to Stanford Hospital to be treated for injuries but has since been released, according to Ford.

The sergeant said the car was only going about 5 mph when it hit the woman. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Ford said.
