Basketball for 4th and 5th Graders

The Burlingame Parks & Recreation Department is proud to offer another season of elementary basketball for 4th and 5th grade students currently enrolled at McKinley, Lincoln, Franklin, Roosevelt, or Washington schools during the winter. This program relies on volunteer coaches to survive. Teams will need to provide their own, volunteer coach(es) this year. If a school does not have enough students to fill a team, there is the possibility of combining teams from multiple schools to accommodate those students. If you are interested in coaching a team, please contact Andrew Cheney at (650) 558- 7300. Practices and games will be set up after sign-ups are taken. Basketball games are played on Saturdays at Crocker Middle School and BIS. Pre-Season placement games for teams will be played the weekend of December 4th & 5th, 2010. The regular season will begin January 8th, 2011. All participants are given a micro-mesh reversible tank top jersey which they keep. Basketball is a 2 to 3 day per week commitment. Students attending non-public schools in Burlingame are invited to participate in the after-school basketball league; they are required to sign-up for the Burlingame public school they would have attended. For further information, please call 558-7300. Registration is taken on a first come/first served basis. Space is limited, so sign up early!
