“The family that plays together, stays together,” or so the classic adage goes. Over 80 Bay Area children and parents will soar to Neverland in Bay Area Educational Theater Company (e.T.c.)‘s upcoming production of Peter Pan, based on the classic story that has been delighting audiences across the globe for over a century.
For the last 11 weeks, every member of Bay Area e.T.c. has been building sets, sewing costumes, memorizing lines, and learning to fly so that they may delight audiences here on the Peninsula this April. Parents and children alike have been working together under the guidance of industry professionals with advanced education from Stanford University, Nevada Ballet Arts, San Francisco Opera, and more.

The opening line of the famous J.M. Barrie play “All children, except one, grow up,” sets the theme of this classic tale. The ageless internal battle between the innocence of childhood and the responsibility of adulthood is manifested in this heartwarming and action-packed adventure to Neverland. From the heartwarming opening number “Tender Shepherd” sung by the Darling family in the nursery to the upbeat classic “I Won’t Grow Up,” you and your children will be transported to Neverland and back, and amazed as Peter Pan flies above your heads sprinkling fairy dust along the way!
