BURLINGAME, CA – On Sunday May 1, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Washington Park in Burlingame (850 Burlingame Avenue, Burlingame), My New Red Shoes will host its fifth annual “Walk in Their Shoes” Community Parade and Festival. The event will feature a spirited parade down Burlingame Avenue to raise awareness about homeless children in the Bay Area. Following the short half-mile walk, ideal for families with young children, My New Red Shoes will host a lively festival featuring carnival games, food and entertainment. Frank Sommerville, KTVU Channel 2 News anchor, will Emcee the event. Participants will also have the opportunity to tour a local homeless shelter. All proceeds from the event benefit My New Red Shoes and the more than 3,000 homeless children the organization serves annually.
