At last week’s meeting, the board voted to use some $5.2 million in Measure A half-cent sales tax money to re-establish the parks department that was disbanded to save money. Hiring workers, performing maintenance work and making capital improvements will be the top priorities.
Nantell is expected to hold the job four to six months, until a permanent director can be hired.
