Free refreshments for National Night Out
Burlingame neighborhoods invited to host gathering on Aug. 6

Burlingame neighborhoods can obtain a refund of up to $50 for refreshments purchased for National Night Out gatherings on Tuesday, August 6, from the Burlingame Neighborhood Network (BNN). The event is sponsored locally by the Burlingame Police Department. To obtain a refund, a block representative should submit receipts to BNN Treasurer Anne Hinckle at anne@burlingamenetwork.org.
BNN is inviting neighborhoods throughout Burlingame to join forces with thousands of other communities nationwide for the National Night Out crime prevention event, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. More than 15,000 communities from all 50 states are expected to participate in this year’s “America’s Night Out Against Crime.”
From 6 to 9 p.m., people in neighborhoods throughout Burlingame are asked to turn on their outside lights and spend part of the evening outdoors with neighbors. Many neighborhoods will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties and cookouts. Some are simple gatherings in a neighbor’s driveway or on a front lawn.
