Great Perks for Being a Volunteer

A discount on See's Candies. Free annual flu shot. Free access to a health club. Sound good? Ah, the perks of volunteering.

Being a volunteer offers great emotional and physical benefits—but perks? Turns out, the answer is yes—if you volunteer at Sutter Health. What sort of opportunities are available? They generally fall into these areas:

  • Patient and family contact
  • Hospitality services
  • Office and administrative work
  • Transport and delivery services
Orientation meetings are held at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center here in Burlingame every month. Call 650-696-2465 for more information. Getting back to those perks—here’s a full list:
  • Free parking during your hours of volunteer service
  • Discounts at the Peninsula and Mills gift shops
  • A 20% discount on any part of a hospital bill at Mills-Peninsula not covered by insurance
  • Free use of the Fitness Center
  • Free annual flu shot
